Ken Kaufmann joined the firm that was to become
Lovinger Kaufmann LLP in 2000. He focuses on
commercial transactions involving energy,
environmental law, and real property law. Mr.
Kaufmann has broad experience assisting utilities
and developers alike with their development of
renewable energy resources. Ken is experienced in
complex negotiations including power purchase
agreements, the sale of hydroelectric projects, the
formation of Tribal electric utilities, the sale
and purchase of renewable energy credits (Green
Tags), CEQA and NEPA arbitration, and water rights
issues.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Kaufmann worked for six years for Pacific Gas and Electric Company as an engineer, hydrologist, and energy trader. Upon graduation from law school, he clerked for United States District Court Judge Robert E. Jones. He is admitted to the state bars of California, Oregon and Washington, and is also a licensed Professional Engineer in California.
