Lovinger Kaufmann LLP began as Thomas H. Nelson &
Associates in 1996, when Tom Nelson left the Portland firm
of Stoel Rives to establish a small firm specializing in
energy and utility law. Today, Jeff Lovinger and Ken
Kaufmann, two attorneys who worked as associates for Tom
Nelson, own and manage the Firm. Associates Charles von
Reis and Joe Pallett and Office Manager Dana Hurley assist
in carrying on the Firm’s tradition of providing quality
legal services specific to energy and utility law.
Although the name of the Firm has changed since its
inception in 1996, Lovinger Kaufmann has retained its
small, personal atmosphere, its tailored practice, and its
reasonable fees, while its attorneys have grown
exponentially in experience. Our goal is to pass this
extensive experience in energy and utility law on to our
clients, and to provide friendly, responsive service.
